Hope Mobile Food Bank
The Hope Mobile Food Bank is our monthly community outreach for those who are in need of food. On the third Saturday of each month we set up a food distribution center in the parking lot in front of our Educational Building. Volunteers from our church and the community help us to reach disabled veterans, single mothers, senior citizens, and those who have lost jobs. Each month we are able to help about 90 families. Volunteers help us distribute food, set up tables, sort food, break apart boxes, to take down and clean up, and to encourage clients who need food. Thinking of volunteering? Come to the early shift, 7am to 8, the middle shift—8:00 to 9:30 or to the late shift—9:30 to 11am. Your hands can be the hands of Jesus at work in our community!
Food Bank, November 19, 2016
Once a month, volunteers gather in the front parking lot of our church in service to the hungry. On Saturday, November 19th, we will need extra help! Some of our regular volunteers are committed to other service that day. Can you help? Be in the front parking lot at 8:00 am. We are usually done before noon. No experience necessary! There are many ways you can help out - something for every age and skill level.
The HOPE MOBILE FOOD BANK is a pantry on wheels. Our church is designated by the South Jersey Food Bank as the site to serve those living at or below the poverty level in our area. Our ministry is especially important because our area is identified as a “food desert” –an area that lacks access to a viable network of food sources as well as to foods that comprise a well-balanced, nutrient rich diet. Help us turn the desert into an oasis of God’s love! Come out and be a blessing!
