Variety Breakfast

Where is the Best Breakfast in Town?

Right here at Cross Keys United Methodist Church!  Come join us  every first Saturday of the month for a great time of fellowship and a wonderful breakfast. January’s breakfast will be held on Saturday, January 6, from 8:00 am -11:00 am.  Come join us for what most people think is the best “all you can eat” breakfast around.  For the amazing price of $10 (children 3-12 $3, 0-2 free), you’ll want to invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to enjoy the great food and fellowship with you.  Volunteers are needed—if you want to join the awesome breakfast team (Friday morning and/or Saturday morning) call Linda Fuscia at 629-3379.

Thank you to everyone for your help and support of our breakfast months!

Meal Ministry

Members and Friends of Cross Keys Church: If you have had a recent hospital stay or have been dealing with illness, our Meal Ministry has some delicious meals that they will love to share with you!  Made with love and prayed over, a few meals like this may be just what you need. Contact Pat Sprengle for meals or if you know someone in the church who is in need.

The Hope Mobile Food Bank

The Hope Mobile Food Bank is our monthly community outreach for those who are in need of food.  On the third Saturday of each month we set up a food distribution center in the parking lot in front of our Educational Building.  Volunteers from our church and the community help us to reach disabled veterans, single mothers, senior citizens, and those who have lost jobs.  Each month we are able to help over 100 families.  Volunteers help us distribute food, set up tables, sort food, break apart boxes, to take down and clean up, and to encourage clients who need food.  Thinking of volunteering?  Come to the early shift, 7:00a to 8:00a, the middle shift—8:00a to 9:30a or to the late shift—9:30a to 11:00a.  Your hands can be the hands of Jesus at work in our community!

Unity Service –Friday, January 19th
Cross Keys is pleased to host the Ecumenical Unity Service at Faith Hall on Friday, January 19th at 7:00 pm.  This is a wonderful evening of song, skits and fellowship by representatives from each of the participating churches in Williamstown.  Refreshments will be served.  We are always blessed when we gather with our brothers and sisters from other churches.   Please join us for this night of inspiration and encouragement.  Everyone is welcome.   (Snow date: Friday, January 26th)
 Leadership Sunday - January 21st
Sunday, January 21st is Leadership Sunday.  On that day we will highlight our ministry goals for 2018 and dedicate our members, leaders and staff in the service of God’s Kingdom and for the glory of Christ.
Additionally, the new directories will be distributed this day.  Please notify the church office at 856-728-3342 or office@crosskeyschurch.org if you have any corrections to your address, phone number or email.  All changes must be submitted by January 15th to appear in the 2018 directory.
HUMAN RELATIONS SUNDAY January Missions Offering Sunday, January 21st
Turn on the news or drive around the outskirts of your town and you will find what Jesus called “the least of these.” Those living in the margins of society, struggling to survive. Over and over Jesus served people like this, embracing them. To continue the ministry of Jesus, the United Methodist Church established Human Relations Day as a Special Sunday that calls all of us to participate in helping all God’s children to realize their potential.  This offering supports neighborhood Community Developers, community advocacy in the United States and Puerto Rico through United Methodist Voluntary Services, and work with at –risk youth through the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program.
SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY Mission Fundraiser Sunday, February 4th
The soup chefs of Cross Keys Church are at it again—stirring their pots in support of Missions.  This delicious fundraiser is a favorite.  A variety of soups will be sold by the quart in takeaway containers to be heated and served at home.  Our soup chefs are busy perusing their recipes for the very best.  The final selections of soups will be listed on the Order Form.  There is still time to volunteer to make your favorite soup.  The soups will be available just in time for the big game!  Email Karen Johnson at karenjohnson@crosskeyschurch.org if you would like to volunteer.
Heart Friend Sunday is February 11th.
The sign-up box will be in the church entryway beginning on January 21st.  Everyone is invited to participate by filling out a card and placing it in the box.  Children may participate and will be matched with another child - please specify a birthdate on the sign-up card.  You do not have to be a Heart Friend to attend the luncheon, everyone is encouraged to attend and fellowship!
Please sign up and make 2018 the year you experience the joy and spiritual growth of lifting someone new in prayer.
How to be a Heart Friend:    1. By February 4th – Fill out the small form in the narthex with your name, address and birthdate.  2. On February 11th – Receive the name, address and birthdate of your assigned Heart Friend. They should be in the narthex before and after church service.  3. Daily – Pray for your Heart Friend.  4. Occasionally – Leave a card for your Heart Friend in the narthex, or put one in the mail, reminding them you are praying for them. Sign it only “Your Heart Friend.” Small gifts and flower dedications are optional.  5. Annually – Attend the Heart Friend Sunday Luncheon and share your “secret identity” with last year’s friend.
